First look at animated film about America’s most decorated canine hero arrives in theaters this holiday season

COLUMBUS, GA – November 30, 2017 – Fun Academy Motion Pictures announced today that the second official teaser trailer for the upcoming animated feature SGT. STUBBY: AN AMERICAN HERO will be released in select theaters across North America on Friday, December 1, 2017.
The 55-second teaser features exclusive never-seen-before animated footage, as well as the voice talents of Logan Lerman (PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS series) and Academy Award® nominee Helena Bonham Carter (THE KING’S SPEECH, HARRY POTTER series) The teaser also includes original music by award-winning composer Patrick Doyle (BRAVE, CINDERELLA, THOR). Although not featured in the teaser, the film also stars the voice of Gérard Depardieu (CYRANO DE BERGERAC, LIFE OF PI).
The film tells the incredible true story of Stubby, a stray dog who became a hero of the First World War after he was adopted off the streets by a young American Soldier, giving the little mutt a chance to perform acts of valor beyond his stature. Sgt. Stubby is still recognized today as the first dog promoted through combat and the most decorated canine in American history.
Richard Lanni, writer and director of the film, commented on the teaser release saying, “It is exciting for us to see this amazing true story come to life, we are eager to give people a little glimpse of what is yet to come.”
The film is produced by Fun Academy Media Group with animation by Technicolor company Mikros Animation (CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS: THE FIRST EPIC MOVIE). Fun Academy will distribute the film throughout North America.
